For this look, I curl the hair using an iron that measured 1 inch in diameter and then sprayed sections of hair in Aquage Beyond Sealing to guard against scorching heat. After curling each section I let it cool while I curled the remaining hair. Once all hair was cool and curled I ran my fingers through it, breaking the loose curls into waves. After plaiting the hair, half-way up I used one of my most-loved R+Co products, called Outerspace that is a flexible hairspray that provides enough hold to allow the curl to last , and gives a nice texture, without making hair dry. What would you say about the style? What is your most favorite part about it? This is an amazing medium-length hairstyle. The cut was created through a sharp horizontal single-length line. Weight was removed through heavy slide cutting using smaller vertical sections. We also added the topknot for a give it a final look! The thing I love to this haircut/styling is how many ways to wear it and the ease to create. Topknots are a great way to dress up with a flirty dress or worn casually with jeans and a t-shirt. What products or tips would you recommend for creating this style? For this look, I made use of an iron that was 1 inch in barrel. Prior to blow-out I used Aveda Smooth Infusion pre and Aveda Confixor to give a more grip, while keeping frizz at the bay. I made loose curls of ribbon and then twirled them with my fingers a little. Then I sprayed a tiny bit of Aveda Air Control on the top of the hair and I pulled an elastic half-way through twice, and then wrapped the rest of my hair around the knot using some Bobby pins. What kind of client would you suggest this style for? This style is perfect for all hair kinds. It’s a great look for hair with thick layers who want to reduce weight using slide cuttingwhile maintaining the look of a blunt line with no layers. This style is also ideal for fine hair that is thin or thin because one length gives an appearance of density. Slide cutting is not required, or even any whatsoever in this instance.
